2023 Masters Botrytis Semillon
The Masters wines are named in honour of a person or event that has played an intrinsic role in the Peter Lehmann story, and released with bottle age to capture the wines’ full potential. With the Barossa’s warm lingering summers, it is a natural home for Botrytis cinerea, used to masterfully craft this wine and show diversity of Semillon.
A dessert wine with a luscious palate of dried apricots, lemon marmalade and toffee characters, balanced by a soft finish of lemon acidity.
WINE MAKERS NOTES
Light straw yellow in appearance with a vibrant edge, the wine has aromas of orange peel, honey and wax with candied lemon curd, tropical fruits and butterscotch. The palate is lucious, yet not cloying with lovely dried apricots, orange marmalade, toffeed fruits with a bright finish of lemon meringue acidity balancing the natural residual sweetness.
