In a world where tradition holds sway, swirl it, pair this, decant that, we’re here with a mission to craft something that’s bold, fearless, and a twist on a traditional Barossa Shiraz.

Introducing Barossan X – an exciting new collection of rich, renegade reds from Peter Lehmann Wines for the wine drinker who thrives on discovery.

Peter Lehmann himself believed rules existed to be bent, broken, blended and amended. We’ve let our winemakers run wild to create these eclectic flavour explorations, marrying the rich flavours of Barossa Shiraz with the exuberance of New World varietals, creating a fusion of flavours that challenge tradition. There’s a splash of modern attitude in every sip of these experimental varietals, creating a wine for the bold and curious palate. This is the excitement your tastebuds have been searching for.

We invite you to Rewrite the Rules and enjoy it your way.

Meet the Wines

Barossan x Twisted

Medium intensity ruby-red core with a bright crimson hue. Aromas of lifted red cherry and delicious varietal notes of Turkish delight and ripe dried fig gained from the Tempranillo. The palate is medium bodied with a bright textural mid palate possessing a firm grip, reminiscent of the varietal’s Spanish roots. The finish is vibrant and bright-fruited with a length of lightly toasted cedar oak notes and savoury dried fruits.

Ideal with spicy, rich food. Delightful with a chorizo and prawn paella and saucy tomato seafood dishes.

Served lightly chilled in the warmer Spring and Summer months.

Barossan X Radical

A medium intensity ruby-red core with a bright purple hue hint towards the aromas of lifted red plum, blackberry that compliments the delicious varietal notes of sour cherry and dried thyme gained from the Touriga. The palate is medium bodied with a bright textural mid-palate possessing a firm grip, reminiscent of the varietal’s Italian roots. The finish is vibrant and bright fruited with a length of lightly toasted cedar oak notes and savoury dried fruits.

Italian foods pair perfectly with the rich notes from the Touriga. The fruit intensity compliments tomato pappardelle ragu or a slow roasted fig and gorgonzola pizza.

Barossan X Daring

Medium intensity ruby-red with bright garnet hues. On the nose, rich aromas of blueberry, plum and dark fruits intertwined with violet and spice from Montepulciano. The palate is full bodied with a textural midpalate dominated by bright red fruits and with nuances of dark fruits, chocolate and cedar oak. The finish is vibrant and satisfying, leaving a long trail of generous juicy fruit and full palate tannin.

This wine is a perfect addition to any rich meal. Serve with thick cut dry-aged Wagyu steak with a side of Hasselback potatoes sauteed in garlic.
