We’re thrilled to share some exceptional news from the Barossa.
Our 2021 The Queen Sparkling Shiraz has been awarded not one, but two trophies - taking home Best Sparkling Red at the 2026 Australian Sparkling Wine Show, as well as Best Sweet or Sparkling Wine at the 2026 Barossa Wine Show.
The accolades don’t stop there.
The Queen has also received an impressive 95 points from Huon Hooke of The Real Review, recognising the quality, balance and character of this very special wine.
So, what makes The Queen so special?
Deep crimson with red and purple hues, The Queen opens with lifted aromas of chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits and Christmas cake. Soft and supple on the palate, rich dark blue fruits, silky tannins and subtle sparkle lead to layers of blackberry jam and satsuma plum, finishing long and complex with a savoury dark chocolate backbone.
For us, these awards are a wonderful acknowledgement of what can be achieved when exceptional Barossa fruit meets generations of winemaking knowledge and a team committed to doing things properly. They’re also a celebration of our growers, many of whom have stood alongside Peter Lehmann for generations and the extraordinary fruit they continue to entrust to us.
