Our founder, Peter Lehmann, created Portrait wines to ‘paint a picture’ of our home in the iconic Barossa. Today, Portrait is a series of wines crafted to express the wonderful and diverse landscapes of South Australia’s wine regions. Keeping to our house style, the wines
express the unique characteristics of their origin and are made to be vibrant and approachable.
WINEMAKERS NOTES
A rich and expressive Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon showcasing the depth, character and elegance of a cooler vintage. Deep crimson in colour with garnet hues, this full-bodied red opens with classic aromas of blackberry, cassis and menthol, layered with subtle hints of vanilla and dark chocolate from careful oak maturation.
The palate is plush and generous, delivering flavours of mulberry, blueberry and tobacco leaf, supported by fine tannins and a long, satisfying finish of toasted oak and dark fruit sweetness. Matured for 12 months in seasoned American and French oak hogsheads, the wine balances richness with freshness and structure.
Enjoy now for its vibrant fruit and smooth texture, or cellar confidently over the next five to ten years. A perfect match for charcoal-grilled lamb cutlets, roasted vegetables and hearty shared meals, though equally suited to a relaxed evening glass by the fire.
