A summer guide to wine and dine - Peter Lehmann Wines

A summer guide to wine and dine

The weather has been a bit temperamental recently but Summer is fast approaching and with summer comes the sunshine and blue skies in spades. We know the team at Peter Lehmann’s Barossa Valley Cellar Door is itching to shed the winter woollies and soak up some rays. The warmer weather begs for us to pop open those white, sparkling and rosé wines we’ve been missing through winter. So break out the picnic rug, dust off the BBQ and crack open the eski, because we’ve got the summer guide for you to wine and dine on all summer long from one of the most-loved Barossa Valley wineries.

White wines

We recommend: 2019 Hill and Valley Riesling.

For lifted citrus florals, a hint of mandarin on the nose, and the hallmark Eden Valley minerality to finish, try this classic example of a Peter Lehmann white.

We recommend: 2012 Margaret Semillon

Zesty and balanced with a clean finish, the 2012 Margaret Semillon is a wonderful accompaniment to pan seared scallops or baked snapper.

We recommend: 2018 Art n soul Pinot Grigio

The Art ’n’ Soul Pinot Grigio is rich and soft with a pleasingly dry finish and subdued minerality. Its unique palate mean it pairs well with spice, so try it lightly chilled with a spicy Thai green curry.

Rosé

We recommend: 2018 Portrait Grenache rosé

Soft and round with luscious strawberries and cream flavours, the Portrait Grenache Rosé is refreshingly crisp, and is lovely served on its own as an aperitif or alongside a fresh seafood basket.

Sparkling

We recommend: 2013 Pinot Noir Chard Cuvee

A complex bouquet of fresh citrus and toasted noted notes, leading to a rich creamy and textured palate enhanced by a delightfully crisp finish, this is the perfect sparkling to commemorate life’s special moments.
