2018 Harvest Wrap

Vintage for Peter Lehmann Wines officially finished on the 1st of May, with the estate grown Botrytis Semillon block being the last grapes picked for 2018.

Our senior winemaker Tim Dolan says we have tipped the scales at 20,080 tonnes and grape quality is very high across the board.

“Vintage 2018 highlights have included some small parcels of Barossa Cabernet, Eden Valley Riesling and of course, Shiraz. There are a few blocks of Eden Valley Shiraz that we are quite excited about. However, I must mention that unlike a Stonewell Shiraz or Mentor Cabernet, fellow winemaker Brooke Blair’s kombucha is unfortunately not looking any better with age!"

“All reds have now been pressed off and are slowly making their way into oak for hibernation over winter - much like Tony, our viticulturist, who is very keen for a few good nights' sleep now that harvest is complete!”
