PLW at the Melbourne Good Food & Wine Show
09 June 2011
The Melbourne Good Food & Wine Show took place last weekend from Friday 3rd June to Sunday 5th June, where almost 30,000 visitors flocked to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Peter Lehmann Wines was featured as part of the Barossa stand which seemed to garner an extraordinarily large crowd – some of whom seemingly spent most of their time sipping the flavorsome wines of the Barossa.
The friendly conversation around the booth was flowing and it was great to hear the large number of people who enjoyed Peter Lehmann Wines and have our wines as a regular staple at home. One eager attendee commented, “I buy the Art Series wines all the time, regardless of vintage, because I know that they offer consistency every year.”
Wines available at the Peter Lehmann Wines tasting bar included;
- 2010 Eden Valley Dry Riesling
- 2010 Barossa Blonde
- 2010 Layers White
- 2011 Princess Moscato
- 2008 The Futures Shiraz
- 2006 Eight Songs Shiraz
- 2006 Mentor Cabernet Sauvignon
- 2006 Black Queen Sparkling Shiraz
We also had the 2005 Wigan Eden Valley Riesling and 2006 Stonewell Shiraz ‘under the bar’ for those punters who either asked about these wines, or had a particular interest in either Riesling or Shiraz.
Of the wines shown, one of the most popular proved to be the Princess Moscato, which was also one of the few 2011 releases at the show. The popularity of the Barossa Blonde, Eight Songs Shiraz, Mentor Cabernet and Black Queen was evident – and it was great to show these wines to people who don’t generally get the opportunity to taste them. Also noticeable was the increased interest in dry Riesling!
We hope to see you at the next Good Food & Wine Show …
