2009 1885 Shiraz
The Barossa is a viticulturally diverse and complex region and Shiraz is a grape which shows distinctively different characters depending upon the sub-region in which it flourishes. In partnership with its growers, Peter Lehmann Wines has unparalleled access to superb Shiraz vineyards throughout the Barossa; vineyards that give Shiraz expressing the terroir of its region.
Ebenezer, in the north west of the Barossa is home to Ralph and Angela Schrapel who are 6th generation guardians of a very special patch of old vine dry grown Shiraz planted by their forebears in 1885. These low yielding vines, with their roots deep in the Ebenezer soils, are a viticultural treasure unique to the Barossa and the oldest vineyard available to Peter Lehmann Wines.
This is a rare Shiraz from the Schrapel family’s Barossa 1885 vineyard.
