This song is a tribute to the winemakers and growers in whom we place so much trust and thanks, to the dedicated winery staff and of course our world-wide family of devotees, who love our wines as much as we love making them.
Ask anyone who has met Peter Lehmann in person, and they’re bound to describe a man of immense character and enormous heart.
So when it came to celebrating our 30th year named in honour of the man himself, a commemorative video capturing an appropriate message was obvious – “the heart”.
But not just the heart of this legendary winemaker – it’s even bigger than that.
It’s about the life of the winery: the people, the heritage, the quality and of course the friends we have made along the way – for it is these elements combined that create the true heart of any legendary wine.
And so it was that we found an exceptional voice, right here at the winery, to truly express the passion and the soul of Peter Lehmann Wines.
Singer-songwriter, Vicki Blechynden, is an extension of the Lehmann family and with the help of her roots inspired band, Very Jane, their music and lyrics captured and embraced the true essence of our story.
From the earliest days when Peter, driven by his faith and his dream, promised the growers that he’d support them through financial ruin with a single handshake – “my word is my bond.”
Right through to the present day when we welcome guests from across the globe to share the pride we have in our place and our wines.
The characters and images portrayed in the video come together to capture the history and the spirit of the past three decades.
The friendships we’ve made that are now into their second and third generations.
The hospitality and warmth that makes the Barossa Australia’s most famous wine region.
And of course the big, warm, honest heart at the very centre of the winery we love.
