2008 Chenin Blanc

Our long term commitment to our growers finds its reward in wines such as this – sourced from some of the last remaining Chenin Blanc vineyards in the Barossa.

Planted in the late 1970’s the maturity of these vines gives the winemakers fruit of outstanding quality. At its best, Chenin Blanc displays delicious aromatic fruit characters and steely acid. If well made, using old vine fruit, a great Chenin Blanc, like Riesling, will mature superbly in the bottle over many years.

The 2008 vintage after an early start, was marked by perfect harvest weather, warm days and cool nights during February. This was then followed by a burst of heat at the end. Lightly chilled, it’s a delightful sip & an ideal aperitif. Pairs beautifully with fresh seafood & light salads. Chenin Blanc, like Riesling is capable of developing superbly in the bottle over time.
